e-Inclusion :: Campaign :: How to 'Be Part of It!'
More details on how to 'Be Part of It!'
You can take part in the 'Be part of it!' campaign in many ways. We've listed a few below. Feel free to suggest other ways.
Tell everyone what you are doing - Submit your contribution online
IN THIS PAGE
Whatever your
experience, you can share it through the portal www.epractice.eu.
This is a website we use to exchange good practices and discuss of issues
related to e-Inclusion, e-Health and e-Government. More than 11,000 people
access this system already, looking for solutions to shared problems.
Your initiatives, events, reports and news can be registered or updated through
standardised online forms. The portal supports other facilities like blog
discussions and newsletters.
We will also use the knowledge base accumulated in this portal to support the
campaign in various ways, e.g. for documents (as was the case with some
initiatives selected from the call for contributions to be presented at the
2007 Lisbon event), events, newsletters, awards, etc. Join now and spread
the word.
Running an event? - Become an associated event of the e-inclusion campaign
If you are organising an event which supports the aims of the e-Inclusion
campaign, you can become an associated event. We will list your event in our campaign calendar, send details out in
our regular newsletters and, depending on the nature of your event, we can
supply documents, brochures and gadgets, or even a speaker. You will also be able to
use the campaign logo on your documentation and website.
To become an associated campaign event, you need to:
-
Complete the online form for events at http://www.epractice.eu/events. This will already share details of your event to a wide audience
-
Then contact us, at least one month before the event will take place, indicating the ePractice link with full details of the event.
-
We will quickly decide if the event is appropriate to the campaign, on the basis of the characteristics of the event and its relevance to the subject area. We will also consider the total number of events already proposed on similar topics, timing, geographical area. If we need to we will ask for additional explanation or documents.
-
We will tell you if you have been successful, as well as any additional support we can provide. All we ask is that you send us a short feedback report telling us:
Who took part? (Number and profile)
What took place (e.g. presentations, awards granted, exhibition, campaign, experimental or interactive activities, etc) and what happened as a result;
Your main conclusions or findings;
Any Lessons learnt in terms of e-Inclusion impact (in particular impact for the intended beneficiaries of the measures considered, recommendations on the efficiency of future measures, etc);
Your next steps, as applicable;
Any other comments or supporting information.
Use the 'Be Part of it!' Logo
You can help spread the word by simply using our campaign logo on your
website, documentation and presentations. There are some
basic rules you need to follow though.
Tell us about your Champion
We will be organising a series of events as part of this campaign and will be looking to invite people identified as having provided valuable contributions to participate in some of these. If you know someone who has personally made the difference for excluded people, tell us about them (Don't forget to tell them you've told us). We will use your feedback to help identify suitable individuals.
Share your material - upload and link your documents, publications and other materials
If you have documents and material you think would be useful for others, then upload them for sharing on www.epractice.eu. Reports compiling experiences, providing measurement or analysis, articles and interviews, translation of documents related to the European e-Inclusion initiative, audiovisual material, etc are all useful.
Selected documents will be advertised through the campaign channels and reported as part of the results of the campaign.
Be a winner - Compete for a European e-Inclusion award
Have you created or implemented an initiative that has used ICT or digital
technology to positively impact on socially disadvantaged or digitally excluded
communities?
If so, you should enter the European e-Inclusion Awards 2008.
Your initiative could be recognised as one of the 35 best e-inclusion projects
across Europe and showcased to the rest of the EU as an example of best
practice. Additionally, by reaching this stage you could go onto win one of 7
individual category awards that will be presented at the e-Inclusion Awards
ceremony in Vienna on 1 December 2008.
Visit the awards website for
more details. Closing date is 12th September 2008.
Anything else? - tell us how you think you can help
We can't imagine everything that you could be doing, so tell us about your ideas and plans. If they work for us as well, you'll be part of the campaign. Some other ideas we've already had suggested:
-
Becoming a manager in e-Inclusion “online communities” at www.epractice.eu : launching debates, creating newsletters, reporting results, checking quality of content available on the portal, etc.
-
Submitting an article to the ePractice online journal (www.epractice.eu/journal).
-
If you are a company, sponsor a local initiative and tell us about it.
-
Set up a twinning partnership to share your expertise and experience - twinclusion
-
Acting as “multipliers” or “champions” of the campaign.
