Sixth Ministerial eGovernment Conference and Exhibition
Borderless eGoverment Services for Europeans
The Polish Presidency of the European Union and the
European Commission organised in close co-operation the sixth Ministerial
eGovernment Conference, entitled "Borderless eGovernment Services for
Europeans", from 17 – 18 November 2011 in the City of Poznań.
The Conference attracted about 800 top-level stakeholders, government leaders
and officials from national, regional and local levels, industry
representatives, civil society and experts.
The main theme of the Conference was the development and take-up of eGovernment
services in Europe and the implementation of the
Malmö Ministerial Declaration 2009, the
Digital Agenda for Europe and the
eGovernment Action Plan 2011-2015.
More particularly, the three plenary and fifteen parallel sessions addressed
policy issues related to the development of eGovernment services, including
social and economic ones, interoperability strategies and people's concerns
In parallel to the conference, an exhibition showcased the most recent European
developments in the field of eGovernment – both at national and European level.
The European Commission stand hosted the first stop of the
Large Scale Pilots’ road show which will travel throughout Europe to
demonstrate the importance of the implementation of cross border services in
Europe offering concrete benefits for citizens, businesses and governments.
