Member States Expert Group (MSEG)

When was the group set up?

The MSEG was set up in 2007. It replaced an informal intergovernmental group on digitisation. The group mandate was extended in 2010 until 2013.

Who participates?

Representatives come from the national ministries and/or national cultural institutions of all EU countries.

What are the group's objectives?

What has been achieved so far?

Member States regularly report on the progress they are making by implementing the 2006 recommendation on digitisation, online accessibility and digital preservation. Member States are moving forward progressively but a lot has still to be achieved.
