Information hearing
The European Commission is seeking information on the scientific information dissemination system from the European scientific publishing sector, European researchers, European funders, European consumers and society at large.
The hearing will take place on 30 May 2011, in the Jean Monnet Building Room M1 - European Commission - Kirchberg L-2920, from 09.30 to 17.30
Topics for discussion
The Commission is seeking stakeholders' views on the current developments in the scientific dissemination system. In particular, the following issues should be addressed:
1. access to scientific information and possible actions to consider,
2. preservation of scientific outputs,
3. the research evaluation system,
4. actions to be carried out at Member State/European level

Registrations for the hearing should reach the following address by 18th May 2011: INFSO-E4@ec.europa.eu
The maximum number of participants is limited to 80. Therefore, registrations will be accepted in the order in which they are received although priority will be given to those with a direct interest in the topic.
Confirmation of registration and details of the venue will be sent at least one week prior to the scheduled date. Upon registration, and in order to facilitate the organisation, each participant should therefore indicate the topic which they wish to address. On this basis, the Commission services will draw up a speaker's list for each topic. Interventions should be limited to not more than a 7 minutes presentation per speaker followed by a discussion/ questions& answer session with the attendants to the hearing.
