Seventeen energy projects selected for Horizon 2020 funding

INEA ceased operations on 31 March 2021. The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) was established on 1 April 2021 to take over its legacy portfolio as well as additional EU funding programmes.

Creation date: May 15, 2017

Fourteen successful projects will focus on smart grid and storage technologies. They have applied for funding under the 2016 - 2017 Competitive Low-Carbon Energy. Altogether, 82 proposals were submitted.

Three projects have been selected for funding under the Smart Cities and Communities call. They plan to test and replicate innovative clean energy solutions in European cities. INEA received 18 applications in this call.

The successful projects will receive almost €184 million in total, following the signature of grant agreements prepared in cooperation with INEA. More details will be announced after the grant agreements are signed.

The projects are expected to be launched in autumn.
