Security and safeguarding liberties |

The Internal Security Strategy is the cornerstone of EU efforts to make Europe more secure. It foresees actions to eliminate international criminal networks, prevent terrorism and address radicalisation, raise levels of security for citizens and businesses in cyberspace, strengthen security through border management and increase Europe’s resilience towards crises and disasters. The Strategy is underpinned by the Framework Programme "Security and Safeguarding Liberties".
Information day on the General Programme on Security
Stockholm, 21 May 2012 The Commission in cooperation with the Swedish Police National Board organises the Information Day on the General Programme on Security and Safeguarding Liberties and the Internal Security Fund, which will take place in Stockholm on 21 May 2012. More information: ![]() The Framework Programme “Security and Safeguarding Liberties” aims to ensure effective European cross-border cooperation in the fight against crime and terrorism and in the strengthening of crime prevention. Related activities are supported through the implementation of two specific financial programmes:
These two programmes are implemented on the basis of annual work programmes adopted by the Commission and through calls for proposals. The Framework Programme also funds the European Police College (CEPOL) and the European Police Office (Europol). |
