The European Migration Network |
|
|
The European Migration Network (EMN) plays a key role in providing reliable information on migration and asylum, which is essential for the EU to better respond to the challenges in these areas. The objective of the EMN is to meet the information needs of EU institutions and EU State authorities and institutions on migration and asylum. It provides up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information, with a view to supporting EU policy-making in these areas. The EMN is also required to provide this information to the wider public. The Commission services coordinate the EMN in cooperation with National Contact Points (EMN NCPs) appointed by EU States. The EMN NCPs form a national network that consists of a wide-range of entities representing all relevant stakeholders. In 2011, the budget available for the EMN was EUR 7.5 million. 2011 2010 2009 2008 |
