The pool
(71 KB) consists of experts (list of members (annex II)) with profiles and expertise that would qualify them to sit on the Scientific Committees. Like the members of the committees, they were recruited by the Commission through an open call for expressions of interest. The Scientific Committees can call up to 5 scientific Advisors from the Pool of Experts as associate members to contribute to their work on specific issues. The associated members participate in activities and deliberations on a given subject and have the same functions, responsibilities, and rights as committee members. Advisors may also replace resigning committee members.
Scientific Advisors are appointed to the Pool for a period of five years and their appointment may be renewed.
