Preparedness and response

International cooperation

At international level, the Commission is actively developing and strengthening relations and collaboration on health security. The Commission is a member of the Global Health Security Initiative (GHSI) which is an international partnership to enhance public health preparedness and the global response to serious cross-border health threats.

Since 2011, the Commission has been collaborating with the World Health Organisation (WHO) to develop a road map for joint work on the International Health Regulations (IHR) and emergency preparedness, communicable diseases such as HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, antimicrobial resistance and immunization.
