The Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks concluded that current scientific research does not link any adverse health problems with EMF exposure within the limits suggested by EU legislation. This includes EMF emissions from mobile phones, WiFi, appliances and power lines.

High-level conference “Ebola, from emergency to recovery” (3 March 2015)  

The European Union is organising a high-level conference co-chaired by the EU, UN, Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, the AU and ECOWAS. The EU is providing substantial support in development cooperation to the Ebola-affected countries to stabilise and assist them in recovering from the crisis and beyond.

Workshop on the EU Health Programme actions against Tuberculosis (Riga, 30 March 2015)

Study looks at the impact of lifestyle habits on the efficiency of Europe’s health systems  

The "Comparative efficiency of health systems, corrected for selected lifestyle factors" study aims to gain insight into the efficiency of the health systems in EU countries, whilst taking into account intrinsic differences in population conditions between them. Covering the EU Member States, Iceland and Norway, led by RIVM, the study was requested by the Commission, who also funded the project.

On the 18th of May, more than 42 000 people, took the start on the 35th edition of the annual 20 kilometres of Brussels run. The European Commission sponsored the race within the Ex-Smokers action and distributed materials aimed at helping smokers quit and become healthy and unstoppable.
