Today, the European Commission and its Scientific Committee on Health, Environmental and Emerging Risks (SCHEER) publish the final Opinion on the biological effects of ultraviolet radiation relevant to health with particular reference to sunbeds for cosmetic purposes.
The Commission appointed today 15 new members of its Expert Panel of Effective Ways of Investing in Health. The renewed Expert Panel will support the Commission’s agenda on effective, accessible and resilient health systems.

Being nearly at the half-way point of the 3rd Health Programme which runs from 2014 to 2020, the Commission would like to evaluate whether it is meeting its objectives and whether there is room for improvement. The consultation is open until 23 February 2017.
