Electromagnetic fields
Role of the EU Member States
The EU asks governments to assess the exposure situation and take appropriate action when reference levels are exceeded – as laid down in EU Recommendation (99/519/EC) on limiting exposure to electromagnetic fields.
For a summary of the situation in EU Member States, see the implementation reports.
In 2011, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment of the Netherlands produced an international comparison of policies on electromagnetic fields
(242 KB) addressing also the situation in the European Union.
