Innovatieve projecten die de gezondheid promoten kunnen EU-financiering krijgen via het gezondheidsprogramma, in het kader van de uitvoering van de EU-gezondheidsstrategie.
Sinds 2005 beheert Uitvoerend Agentschap voor gezondheid en consumenten de subsidies en de openbare aanbestedingen voor projecten. Het organiseert ook conferenties en onderhoudt contacten met de personen en organisaties die financiering uit het gezondheidsprogramma ontvangen.
