National Jury Sweden

The jury met on 14 November 2013 and selected the Swedish national finalist. The name of the national finalist will be published after all the finalists are selected. 


Johan Wullt, chair

Johan Wullt has been a Communications Officer at DG COMM in the EU Representation of Sweden in Stockholm since 2012. He also worked as a Communications Officer in Eurostat from 2007 until 2010. Johan Wullt had been working as an Acting Spokesperson and Deputy Spokesperson at OLAF and was a project manager for MTG and Viasat TV from 2003 until 2007. He was a Communications consultant and partner at Raptor from 2000 until 2003 and also worked as a political reporter for Reuters too.

Charlotte Schröder, journalist 

Charlotte Schröder has been working as a journalist in various publications for the last 18 years and as a medical journalist since 2000. First, as news reporter at the Swedish Television News and then as reporter in various weekly and monthly magazines on topics like social issues, food, sketch, health, personal and everyday law and reports of various kinds. Since 2007 she works as freelancer and has assignments from a number of different magazines and companies, mainly within healthcare and pharmaceuticals.


Anna Karin Edstedt Bonamy, health expert

Anna-Karin Edstedt Bonamy graduated from the Karolinska Institutet MD-program in Stockholm in 2000 and defended her PhD-thesis 2008. After specializing in Pediatrics at the Karolinska University Hospital 2002-2009, she is currently working as pediatrician at the at the Sachsska Children’s Hospital (Stockholm South General Hospital). In parallel with her clinical work, she also continues her post-doctoral research career in perinatal epidemiology.


Jan Östergren, health editor

Jan Östergren received his MD and the Ph.D. degree from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, in 1976 and 1984, respectively. He is a professor of medicine and consultant at the Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm. JÖ is a specialist in Internal medicine and Cardiology with a special interest in vascular medicine and is a former chairman of the Swedish Society for Medical Angiology.
The major fields of scientific interest are hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, microcirculation, and heart failure. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and more than 65 editorials, reviews or book chapters. JÖ serves as chief medical editor for the Journal of the Swedish Medical Association and is First Court Physician to the Swedish royal family since 2005.

Marta Paterlini

Marta Paterlini, journalist

Marta Paterlini is a freelance journalist, member of the US National Association of Science Writers and of the European Union of Science journalists' Association and a neurobiologist at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm. Marta has collaborated with international magazines such as Science, Nature, The Scientist, The Lancet, EMBO Reports, Scandinavian Life Science, La Stampa and Le Scienze. She published the “Den gåtfulla kopplingen mellan vaccin och narkolepsi” (The enigmatic link between the vaccine and narcolepsy) and wrote "Piccole Visioni"(2006), a history of structural biology through the life of Nobel Laureate Max Perutz.
