National Jury Spain

The jury met on 18 November 2013 and selected the Spanish national finalist. The name of the national finalist will be published after all the finalists are selected.

Maria Lluch, health expert

Maria Lluch – MPharm, UB; MBA, IESE Business School; MSc International Health Policy - Health Economics and PhD reader, LSE. After working as a journalist in developing countries for three years for different media (BusinessWeek, Fortune magazine and The Economis), from 2004 onwards, Maria shifted to EU-funded projects in the health sector at IESE Business School and at LSE Health where she combined both management and research, focusing on cost effectiveness studies, health systems regulatory frameworks, cross-border care, the pharmaceutical sector and ICT for Health being the latter her PhD topic. She is currently on a secondment from LSE and has joined the IS Unit at IPTS – JRC DG to carry out research on ICT for Health.

Doris Casares, journalist

Since 2007 Doris Casares has been the Director of Communications and Public Affairs at the Spanish Generic Medicines Association. Ms Casares holds a degree in Communications from the University of Navarra, PDD in International Relations from Georgetown University, Executive Masters in Marketing and Sales Management from ESIC Business School (Madrid) and PDAP Lobby and Public Affairs Management from Comillas Pontifical University.

Alberto Mélida, journalist

Alberto Mélida graduated in Journalism in UCM Madrid and for five years he has been the communication consultant in charge of the Citizen Information Programme (PRINCE) in Spain. As a Journalist, he has worked in four continents and collaborated with media such as: Telecinco, Lainformacion.com, TV Unisinos (Brazil), Diario Palentino, Canal 4 CyL, El Faro de Ceuta or El Norte de Castilla. He is now CEO of Dubsar PR, a Public Relations Agency based in Spain and coordinator of ComunicacionSocial.net, a website about communication from a social perspective.

Carlos Rull Rabassa, journalist

Carlos Rull Rabassa is working as a journalist in the delegation of Uruguay of the EFE Agency and as responsible of communication in Brussels. He is currently in charge of the online communication of the European projects.
