Irma Kaljulaid, chair

Irma Kaljulaid is the Press attaché in the Representation of the European Commission in France, acting as one of the contact points of the institution for journalists. She has previously worked in the Press sections of the European Commission Representation in Estonia and the EU Delegation in India.
In 2010, she participated in the preparatory work of the EU Health Prize in Estonia.

Alain Trebucq, journalist

Alain Trébucq, MD, is a medical publisher. He runs his own company, Global Média Santé. This company is the publisher of the 2 main CME magazines for French doctors (Le Concours Médical & La Revue du Praticien), of a weekly news magazines for GP’s (Panorama du Médecin), and a medical website (www.egora.fr). Alain Trébucq has also been, since 2009, the Chairman of the professional organization of the French presse for Health Professionals (Syndicat de la Presse et de l’Edition des Professions de Santé, SPEPS).

Segolène Aymé, health expert

Ségolène Aymé is a medical geneticist, emeritus director of research at the French Medical Research Council (INSERM). She is the executive manager of the Inserm department dedicated to information on rare diseases in Paris. This service established in 1997 the European database of rare diseases and orphan drugs named Orphanet (www.orpha.net). She is also the editor-in-chief of the Orphanet Journal of Rare Diseases. She was the founder and the first president of the International Federation of Human Genetics Societies. She was the chair of the EU Committee of Experts on Rare Diseases from 2010 until 2013 and still chair the Topic Advisory Group for Rare Diseases established by the WHO for the revision of the International Classification of Diseases. She is editor-in-chief of the electronic newsletter OprhaNews.

Anne Pezet, health expert

After a PhD in human genetics and a MBA at IAE de Paris, Anne Pezet has worked as a scientific and economic journalist for « Biotech Info » weekly professional newsletter and for the « L’Usine Nouvelle » weekly industrial magazine, where she wrote articles about pharmaceutical and biotech issues. She has published a book « Ces malades qu’on sacrifie » (Bourin éditeur) about the price control of drugs and the French health system. Since September 2010, she has worked heading a company dedicated to scientific and economic analysis of life sciences (academic and industrial point of view).
