Previous editions - 2011 - Summary

The EU Health Prize for Journalists was held for the third time in 2011. In total, 358 journalists from the 27 EU countries submitted 498 eligible articles.

And the winners are…

The winners of the 2011 edition are Ben Hirschler and Kate Kelland from the United Kingdom, with an article on antimicrobial resistance "When the drugs don't workpdf(129 KB)", published by Reuters.

The second prize went to Rita Makarész from Hungary for her article "The cheapest antidepressantpdf(78 KB) Choose translations of the previous link magyar (hu) ", published on the health portal www.orvostkeresek.hu.

Mateja Grošelj, from Slovenia for her article "From Lojze to Ludvikapdf(164 KB) Choose translations of the previous link slovenščina (sl) ", published in the Saturday supplement of the Vecer daily", came third.

The Special Prize on smoking cessation was awarded to Monika Cetera from Poland for her web article "I've come here to have my teeth treated, not to quit smokingpdf(159 KB) Choose translations of the previous link polski (pl) ", published on www.jaw.pl.
