Other Infectious Diseases
Europe still faces problems with infectious diseases, many of which pose serious health risks. To better fight and respond to this threat, collaboration between international actors is of pivotal importance. The key EU objectives are to have in place good surveillance systems and proper prevention, preparedness and management strategies. Detecting emerging communicable diseases and outbreaks quickly, and sharing information on their potential for international spread, is crucial for an appropriate EU response. |
