Pactul european pentru sănătate şi bunăstare mintală a fost lansat de Comisia Europeană în iunie 2008. Acesta facilitează colaborarea dintre instituţiile UE, guverne, regiuni şi societatea civilă.
Pactul este implementat, în principal, prin organizarea de conferinţe tematice axate pe domeniile sale prioritare: sănătatea mintală a tinerilor şi a persoanelor în vârstă, prevenirea depresiei şi a suicidului, combaterea excluziunii sociale şi sănătatea mintală la locul de muncă. Conferinţele reprezintă un prilej de a crea noi parteneriate pentru a identifica, difuza şi încuraja bunele practici şi de a prezenta rezultatele proiectelor de succes pentru îmbunătăţirea sănătăţii mintale.
Rezultatele conferinţelor sunt înregistrate în baza de date a Comisiei cu privire la politici, acţiuni şi bune practici în domeniu („Busola acţiunilor UE pentru sănătate şi bunăstare mintală”).
