Salud mental

En junio de 2008 la Comisión Europea presentó el Pacto Europeo para la Salud y el Bienestar Mental. Este Pacto hace posible que las instituciones de la UE, los gobiernos nacionales, las regiones y las organizaciones de la sociedad civil trabajen juntos para mejorar la salud mental.

El Pacto se aplica principalmente a través de una serie de conferencias temáticas sobre sus temas prioritarios: juventud, prevención de la depresión y el suicidio, personas mayores, exclusión social y salud mental en el lugar de trabajo. Las conferencias constituyen una oportunidad para formar nuevos niveles de cooperación en lo que respecta a la salud mental, para determinar, divulgar y fomentar buenas prácticas en Europa y para presentar los resultados de los proyectos con resultados positivos sobre la mejora de la salud mental.

Las conferencias también aportan información a la Orientación de la UE para la Actuación en materia de Salud y Bienestar Mental, la base de datos de la Comisión sobre políticas, actuaciones y buenas prácticas sobre salud mental.
