Date of arrival: 2016 December 13     -     Final date for comments: 2017 January 31

Description

Enactment of a safety standard (KC10029) for electrical mosquito swatters using primary or secondary cell batteries which shall be subject to Supplier's Confirmation of Conformity (as of 1 April 2017) according to the Article 3 of Enforcement rule for Electrical Appliances Safety Control Act (EASCA) A simple and exclusive safety standard for electric mosquito swatters only using primary or secondary cell batteries is enacted. This is because some aspects of the existing safety standard (KC60335-2-59) for electric insects killer, regarding the exposure of live parts, etc., may be too rigorous if applied to electric mosquito swatters using primary or secondary cell batteries. Furthermore, the existing standard includes many irrelevant items, such as electric strength, moisture resistance etc. If an electric mosquito swatter is equipped with dual-control device (e.g. pushing two switches at a time for operating), its metal part is not regarded as a live part. Tennis-shaped swatters are not regarded as a toy figures. Marking of a dangerous voltage etc.
