    Anyone who is capable of working in the Construction Industry and sits for the Theory and Practical exam set by the Masons' Board and gets a PASS mark, can obtain a Masons' License even if he does not attend any courses.

     Any person can work in the building industry according to his skill, ability and experience, but only a person who has obtained a Mason's Licence can act as a Licensed Mason as defined in article 95 of Chapter 10-Code of Police Laws:
    PART V:  OF INHABITED AREAS, HOUSES AND OTHER TENEMENTS
    Licence to act as mason. Amended by: II.1880.10; VI.1881.1; VI.1949.2; II.1974.2; VIII.1990.3.

    The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) holds a Masons' Course for the duration of two scholastic years leading to a certificate MQF Level 3. After this course the persons can apply to sit for the exams in Theory and Practical to obtain the Masons' License as long as they are over 18 years of age. Courses are also held under private supervision by members of the public who can teach the subject.

    Bennej liċenzjat huwa responsabbli għax-xogħol tiegħu fil-bini għall-perjodu ta ' 15-il sena, jiġifieri tal-bini tal-pedamenti, ħitan, konkrit, eċċ. Il-Bennej Liċenzjat jeħtieġ li jkun kapaċi li jaġixxi bħala Superviżur u anke il-Manager tas-sit.

    Translation(s):

    A licensed Mason is responsible for his work in buildings for a period of 15 years, meaning building foundations, walls, concrete, etc. A Licensed Mason needs to be capable to act as a Supervisor and even Site Manager.
