    La professione giornalistica è definibile come quella prestazione di lavoro intellettuale diretta alla raccolta, commento ed elaborazione di notizie volte a formare oggetto di comunicazione interpersonale attraverso gli organi di informazione, ponendosi il giornalista quale mediatore intellettuale tra il fatto e la diffusione della conoscenza di esso, con il compito di acquisire la conoscenza dell'evento, valutarne la rilevanza in relazione ai destinatari e confezionare il messaggio con apporto soggettivo e creativo

    The journalistic profession is defined as the provision of intellectual work directed to the collection, review and processing of news designed to be the subject of interpersonal communication through the media, putting the journalist as an intellectual mediator between the fact and the dissemination of knowledge of it, with the task of acquiring the knowledge of the event, assess its relevance in relation to the recipients and tailor the message with subjective and creative contribution.
