No domínio do projecto possui a responsabilidade técnica global, incluindo a segurança e a prevenção da poluição, os aspectos ligados às qualidades náuticas e operacionais do navio e os aspectos ergonómicos e de automação. Na actividade industrial de construção, modificação, reparação e desmantelamento de navios, actua quer como gestor de produção ou de projecto, quer como especialista no planeamento da produção e na definição das estratégias construtivas e das soluções operativas.
