    Description of activities:

    Heilpädagogen und -pädagoginnen erziehen, fördern und unterstützen Menschen jeden Alters, die unter erschwerten Bedingungen und mit Beeinträchtigungen leben, z.B. Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene mit geistiger Behinderung, Sinnes- und Mehrfachbehinderung oder chronischen Erkrankungen sowie Kinder und Jugendliche mit emotionalen und mit Verhaltensstörungen. Durch den Einsatz entsprechender pädagogischer und therapeutischer Maßnahmen fördern sie vorhandene Fähigkeiten und beugen Behinderung und sozialer Ausgrenzung vor.

    Teachers for special needs education educate, encourage and support people of all ages who live in impaired circumstances and with disabilities. These include children, young people and young adults with mental, sensory and multiple disabilities or chronic diseases and children and young people exhibiting emotional and behavioural difficulties. They deploy appropriate educational and treatment measures to support existing abilities and to prevent disability and social exclusion.
