The following bodies have been awarded contracts for the organisation of the training activities to take place within the framework of the Better Training for Safer Food initiative during 2007:

• Campden and Chorleywood Food Research Association Group (CCFRA): Training Courses on HACCP;


• Agri-Livestock Consultants: Training workshops on EU standards relating to animal by-products;


• Austrian Federal Ministry of Health, Family and Youth: Training workshops on best practices for veterinary checks in airport border inspection posts;


• AETS (European Application of Technology and Services) Consortium:
  • Training workshops for Third Countries on EU Food Standards;
  • Training workshops on the EU Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed and the possible introduction of a similar system in other regions of the world.
  
  
• IZS TERAMO Consortium:
  • Training workshops on best practices for veterinary checks in seaport border inspection posts;
  • Training workshops on monitoring and controls of zoonoses and applying microbiological criteria in foodstuffs;
  • A training workshop on welfare standards concerning the stunning and killing of animals (in slaughterhouses or disease control situations).
  
  
• The European Training Platform for Safer Food (TrainSaferFood):
  • Training workshops on controls on food contact materials;
  • A training workshop and a follow-up meeting on the evaluation and registration of plant protection products;
  • Sustained training and assistance, and laboratory workshops on Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza control strategies;
  • Training sessions for laboratory staff of ASEAN countries in the application of food testing.
