Training 2006

Two main stages are envisaged for the development of training activities. The initial stage was initiated in 2005 with the launch of several calls for tender. These calls were aimed at concluding contracts for the organisation and implementation of ad-hoc training projects.

The contracts have now been awarded to seven contractors who are responsible for the organisation of these courses. The first series of training programmes will run within the framework of this stage throughout 2006. They will cater for around 1 500 participants over 34 different events and periods of sustained training.

The second stage in the development of the future Community training strategy is analysed in a Commission Communication adopted in September 2006.
