This group assists the Commission to negotiate and implement agreements with non-EU countries in the field of food safety and sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures by:

• Contributing to EU positions in negotiations with non-EU countries;
• Advising on scientific, technical and economic aspects;
• Elaborating equivalence files and exchanging experience on technical assistance actions with non-EU countries;
• Helping implement agreements.
