Stakeholders' consultation

On the basis of the conclusions of the Commission report (COM/334/2009/final) on the state of implementation of Regulation (EC) No 882/2004, the Commission is considering options for policy change in the area of inspection fees (Articles from 26 to 29 of Regulation (EC) No 882/2004). Stakeholders (and Member States in particular) are being involved in the definition of the key issues for the forthcoming impact assessment on the different options.

Stakeholders consultation is being managed through two working groups:

  1. with Member States with an ad-hoc working group set up within the general framework of SCOFCAH . A meeting of this working group took place on 7 September 2009;

  2. with other relevant stakeholders with a "working group on inspection fees" set up in the context of the Advisory Group on the Food Chain and Animal and Plant Health. A meeting of this working group took place on 19 October 2009.
