- A baseline study has been carried out by the Member States between October 2004 and September 2005, in order to estimate across the
EU the prevalence of Salmonella spp. in
flocks of laying hens (Gallus gallus) for
table egg production at the end of their
production period. The results shall be
used to set Community targets.

Cofinancing of national control programmes
A decision on the cofinancing by the Community of national programmes for the eradication and monitoring of animal diseases, of certain TSEs, and for the prevention of zoonoses is adoprted each year.
