In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 183/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 January 2005 laying down requirements for feed hygiene, establishments manufacturing and/or placing on the market certain feed additives, premixtures and compound feedingstuffs must be approved by the competent authority of each Member State. Approval can also be required under the national law of the Member State where the establishment is located, or by a Regulation adopted by comitology. According to Article 19 of Regulation (EC) No 183/2005, Member States must keep updated lists of such establishments. The Commission must compile the Member States’ lists and make them available to the public. For that purpose, the Commission has created a single, central and easy access to the different lists of feed establishments published by each Member State.
