Article 27 of the animal by-products Regulation (EC) 1774/2002 empowers the experts from the Commission's Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) to carry out the necessary checks in Member States to verify the enforcement and control measures in place to ensure uniform application of the Regulation by the competent national authorities.
