Bluetongue outbreaks in the northern part of the EU

From the beginning of the outbreak in the northern part of the EU caused by serotype 8 of the bluetongue virus (this strain was never before been found in the EU), the Commission has monitored the evolving situation and has taken action where appropriate to minimise the impact of this particular serotype within the Community.
