The list of approved veterinary border inspection posts (BIPs) is laid down in Commission Decision 2009/821/EC and reviewed approximately 3-4 times per year.

Currently there are around 300 BIPs in the European Union and Commission Implementing Decision 2012/197/EU contains the latest amendment to the official list, which will be published also with the consolidated version under the above mentioned link.

EFTA Surveillance Authority Decision No 367/11/COL of 30 November 2011 amending the list contained in point 39 of Part 1.2 of Chapter I of Annex I to the Agreement on the European Economic Area listing border inspection posts in Iceland and Norway agreed for veterinary checks on live animals and animal products from third countries and repealing EFTA Surveillance Authority Decision No 111/11/COL. The same Decision is published in Icelandic and Norwegian language on the EFTA-website.

Decision no 1/2008 of the joint veterinary committee set up by the agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products of 23 december 2008 regarding the amendment of appendices 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10 to Annex 11 to the agreement specifies the two BIPs in Switzerland, which are carrying out veterinary checks since 01.01.2009.
