Seminar on presentation of the fisheries scientific advice

Brussels, 23 July 2009

The European Commission organised a one-day seminar on the state of fish stocks in European Seas. Presentations were made by scientists representing the independent scientific agencies that advise the European Commission and Member States on the state of fish stocks. Prospects for fishing in 2010 was discussed. 

The purpose of the seminar was to look at the state of exploited stocks and to allow examination and questions about the scientific advice in an open forum that includes stakeholders, government of Member States, and NGOs. The meeting focused on the latest scientific advice.
