This issue of the FARNET Magazine opens with an article that presents some of the main lessons from a series of 15 in-depth case studies, which were carried out by FARNET in different fisheries areas across the EU.
This video shows how Fisheries Local Action Groups (FLAGs) can drive green growth in local fishing communities. The Sotavento FLAG in Portugal has helped local actors in Olhão to use the European Fisheries Fund to capitalise on the environmental assets of their fisheries area and create new economically viable activities.
The Directorate-General for Regional Policy has published two calls for expression of interest where experts are specifically requested to respond.

Operationele programma's

Europees Visserijfonds (EVF)

In de operationele programma's worden de maatregelen die de nationale autoriteiten willen steunen per prioriteitspunt van het EVF voor de periode 2007-2013 beschreven en gerechtvaardigd. Ieder operationeel programma bevat ook een financieringsplan met een verdeling van de uitgaven per jaar en per prioriteit voor de hele programmaperiode.

De operationele programma's moeten worden goedgekeurd door de Commissie, die nagaat of zij consistent zijn, niet alleen met de doelstellingen van het gemeenschappelijk visserijbeleid, maar ook met andere relevante EU-maatregelen en -prioriteiten. De programma's moeten ook consistent zijn met het nationale strategische plan van het desbetreffende EU-land.
