The First Conference on Residential Exclusion in Euskadi, disclose the main results of a recently published study on the situation of people experiencing homelessness in the Basque Country and it establishes a forum to discuss the problems related to residential exclusion and the policies that should be developed to prevent and to address these problems.
The program has four main objectives:
Understand the policies regarding residential exclusion developed in other European countries, with special attention to the situation in Scotland and the ‘housing first’ models developed in various European cities.
Understand the existing systems in other Spanish cities such as Madrid and Barcelona, and analyze their effectiveness.
Discuss the policy areas that are developed from the regional administration in relation to this collective, such as health, housing, social services, and income security.
Facilitate discussion between technicians working in local and provincial social services, as well as the Third Sector organisations, relating to resources and programs that should be developed to meet the social needs of this collective.
