Only three schools in Sofia have Syrian refugee children (about 65 children) included in the learning process. It is not easy for the young college-age Syrian refugees who want to study at universities in Bulgaria as well. This debate goes beyond the written paper integration strategies. Is there an easy physical access to the school environment? Are there any schools close to refugee centers? How familiar are the Bulgarian students with the other cultures and are they toolerant? Are Bulgarian teachers prepared to teach in a multicultural environment? Is there a strategy at the state level for multicultural education? What are the appropriate methodologies for presentation and dialogue between different cultures?

Representatives from the State Agency for Refugees, UNICEF, Ministry of Education, schools, parents and volunteers will participate in the debate.
