Racial Discrimination Monitor 2009 (Unofficial translation)
Monitor Rassendiscriminatie 2009 (original title)
[01/07/2010] [Netherlands] [Impact assessment and evaluation] [Dutch]
Posted by : Country Coordinator Netherlands
Authors : Saskia van Bon, Igor Boog en Wies Dinsbach (Landelijk Expertisecentrum van Art. 1)
This documents presents the monitoring exercise on discrimination experiences of Dutch citizens. The monitor 2009 was carried out by Landelijk Expertisecentrum Art. 1 as requested by the national government (Housing, Communities and Integration).
Most people do not report incidents of discrimination. In 2009, more than 70 percent of the incidents remain unreported. This is evident from the Racial Discrimination Monitor 2009, which Minister Van Middelkoop (Housing, Communities and Integration) on July 1, 2010 sent to the House of Representatieves. The reason most commonly cited for not reporting was that it made no difference to report.
