The Society Integration Foundation (SIF) has taken over the management of the National integration centre (NIC), the main organizational structure providing services and coordinating the work of public administration and civil society enhancing the integration of third-country nationals in Latvia.
The main purpose of NIC is to continue to provide and improve support services for the third country nationals helping them integrate into Latvian society. As such, NIC will continue to provide advice on social, health, educational and employment issues, as well as legal advice.
SIF, a public foundation established in 2002, has been implementing various projects and grant schemes that contribute to the integration of different ethnic groups and the civil society sector development. These programs have supported a variety of activities, all directed towards civil society participation, NGO capacity building, preservation of cultural values and development, as well as the promotion of mutual cooperation.
