Organiser Afghan Community in Greece

The eastern poet and founder of the Mevlevi Sufi order, Mawlana Jalaluddin Balchi Rumi, wrote in a poem of the Nowruz celebration, that it is a “celebration of rebirth of the plant and of our souls”.

The International Day of Nowruz was instated by the UN in 2010 to honor this spring holiday that is 3000 years old and coincides with the New Year’s celebration of many nations in the East and elsewhere.

Every year on 21 March, for the past 3000 years, citizens of Afghan origin, wherever we may be, wish and hope for the rebirth of all peoples around the world.

It is thus our honour to invite you to this cultural event.

Together, let us wish for a better world and let us celebrate the “Rebirth of Nature” along with the International Day Against Racism.
