The football tournament will take place on Sunday, 6 October 2013, at the school gymnasium New Fužine (Preglov trg 8, Ljubljana) from 12 pm onwards.

The event takes place in the framework of the project Combating Trafficking in Human Beings - the dissemination of information is a weapon against exploitation! Thus during the tournament an awareness raising campaign and activities will take place to inform people on labour rights of migrant workers and the organizations to which they can turn for help in case of violation of rights. Attendants will have the possibility to review the list of employers WITH THE PROHIBITION OF EMPLOYMENT, find out which organizations are offering free legal assistance and any other organizations they can contact for help.

In the last decade in Slovenia there were numerous cases and forms of exploitation of workers, especially migrant workers, who often remain hidden, often as a result of lack of information of migrant workers themselves, who are not aware of their rights or do not know the options available to prevent exploitation. Workers were (are) often not paid for their work, they worked over-time, they lived in substandard housing, etc.

The project aims to inform, raise awareness and empower migrant workers on trafficking in human beings, their rights, duties, and present opportunities offered to them by integration programs in Slovenian society.
