At this meeting, the Rockwool Foundation Research Unit will present two new publications on the everyday lives of non-Western immigrants and descendants in Denmark.

One book focuses on the level of integration among this group by looking at statistics on employment, family life, network and consumption. The other publication adds to this with a qualitative insight into the everyday lives of the group based on qualitative interviews. A central question is: What developments can we see from the 1st to the 2nd generation? The wish of both publications is to give a broad and nuanced picture of integration in Denmark today. Both books are in Danish.

After the presentation of the publications, the Danish Minister of Social Affairs and Integration, Annette Vilhemsen, and spokesperson on integration matters from the laregst liberal party (Venstre), Inger Støjbjerg, will comment and discuss the political implications of the publications.
