The course aims to promote an introduction to the theme of the existing relations between media, migration and globalisation. Privileging a theoretical perspective that thinks the contemporary media as multifaceted, plural and permeable the specificities of contexts, seek to reflect on:

  • The specificities of the processes of content production, mediation and consumption, in the framework of globalisation;
  • The notions of deterritorialization and reterritorialization, local and global, center and periphery, in the framework of the production and consumption of media;
  • The potential of the media in the management of transnational social networks and measure their impacts in terms of (re)production and identitarian revision and management of subjective belongings;
  • Discuss the role of the media in the formation of new public spaces for (des)encounter and dialog, in the consolidation of many contemporary social movements and in public affirmation of many minority groups traditionally "without voice".
