On the 18th of June, the Conference Portuguese in Brazil and Brazilians in Portugal, organized by the Centre of Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-IUL) in partnership with the Observatory of Emigration, the Research Centre of Economic Sociology and of the Organizations (SOCIUS) and the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning (IGOT) will take place in the Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE-IUL).
The event will start at 9 a.m. with an opening session with the intervention of Professor Fernando Luís Machado, President of the CIES-IUL, Professor Rui Pena Pires representing the Observatory of Emigration and the CIES-IUL and Mr. João Maria Cabral, General Director of the Consular Issues and Portuguese Communities. The conference includes 4 thematic panels: Trends and Flows and Labour Market and Internationalization (during the morning) and “Students and Skilled Migrants” and “Migration Policies” (during the afternoon). This last panel includes the presence of Mr. Duarte Miranda Mendes, head of the office of the High Commissioner for Immigration and Intercultural Dialogue. The event will take place in the B203 Auditorium, Building no. 2 of the ISCTE-IUL in Lisbon.
