Over the last half-a-dozen years, the European economic crisis in Europe has caused a drastic increase in unemployment rates in numerous European countries. One demographic group particularly affected by this current economic downturn is that of young adults – a demographic group that today fills the ranks of the unemployed more than any other demographic group.
The goal of this workshop is to scrutinise the impacts of the current economic crisis on the hardest hit population – that of young adults. The workshop sets out to analyse emergent mobility flows and options, migrant characteristics as well as related policies and political decisionmaking, and their impact upon young people, employment and mobility.
This Workshop will be held within the IMISCOE Annual Conference on Crisis and Migration - Perceptions, Challenges and Consequences in Malmo, Sweden.
