Engage in CPH is Copenhagen City’s diversity program. We work to make Copenhagen the most inclusive and open major city in Europe.
Copenhagen is part of a global world with people from many different origins and walks of life. That diversity supplies the city with a competitive edge and makes it a better place to live for everybody.
It also makes economic sense: studies estimate that each expat family contributes an estimated 230k DKK per year to the Danish state.
Yet 70% of expats found it hard to form friendships with Danes, and one in ten of expats leave even before their contract ends – many of them say, it is because they or their families do not feel at home. That is a challenge for an open city.
And we are working to do something about it – but we need your help! We need to find ideas for the city of Copenhagen to help expats feel more welcomed and stay here longer.
