A failing field of integration: how can migrants succeed on the labour market

In the third part of the Itinera series on integration, we address the question of immigration and integration in the labour market.

An ageing society, a reversed population pyramid and difficult budgetary years are increasing the pressure to mobilise everyone for the challenges that our society is awaiting. However, the failing integration policy and an employment rate of non-EU migrants of only 50% is causing a setback and therefore an avoidance of our responsibilities.

Why are we not succeeding in integrating non-EU migrants in our labour market? What are the barriers preventing these people from getting a job? What is the duty of the government and the employment services? What are trade unions and employers proposing?

On the 13th of March, Itinera broaches the discussion.
Prominent migration experts, policy makers and labour market specialists both from Belgium and abroad will share their opinion, debate and reach some solutions.
