The main goal of the event is to promote an analysis of the Portuguese emigration / immigration and includes an intervention from Rui Pena Pires, scientific coordinator of the Observatory of Emigration, on the studies and systematization of information for better emigration policies. The annual OECD report International Migration Outlook 2012 will be presented by Georges Lemaître of the OECD’s International Migration Division giving particular attention to the Portuguese case. The event will have the presence of the High Commissioner for Immigration and Intercultural Dialogue (Ms. Rosário Farmhouse), Mr. José Braga Santos (Director of the Consulate Affairs and the Portuguese Communities) and Mr. Duarte Miranda Mendes (Observatory of Immigration). Professor Maria Lucinda Fonseca and Professor Jorge Malheiros from the Centre for Geographical Studies of the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon will be the moderators.
