In order for an employer to achieve a diverse workforce within the limits of the equal treatment legislation, the equal treatment legislation includes the possibility to recruit minorities; specifically women, people from a particular ethnic group and handicapped or chronically ill people. Through affirmative action you can recruit specific groups that are under-represented in your organization. The affirmative action measures are allowed in the following stages of your Human resources policies:

  • During your recruiting process,
  • as part of your secondary benefits,
  • in your schooling programmes
  • and in relation to promotion.

To implement affirmative action, specific legal conditions apply. The most important, besides that these are used for the target groups, is that there is a demonstrable structural underrepresentation of one of these groups in your organisation.
